Summary wl1, Tabor Scholengemeenschap / locatie Werenfridus, Netherlands
The answers to our questions all indicated that everyone experiences flooding every year due to heavy rainfall and the riverbeds not being deep enough.
Also because of climate changes, there is more rain every year which means towns and countryside is flooded, killing people and animals and ruining crops.
Another problem is that water gets polluted very often by factories.
A solution could be to install water filtering centres.
We are aware that in the Netherlands we are very lucky to have such a very good system of controlling both water from the sea and the rivers.
Not only do we never have floods we also have very good and clean drinking water.
Thank you for giving us your answers to our questions.
Bye bye H2X.

Summary wl4, LICEUL TEORETIC ”NICOLAE IORGA”, Romania
First of all, we want to thank every one for your interesting answers and we are sorry for being so late with our summary.
We have found out that water is a very versatile symbol, having mainly two opposite significations: life and death. As a source of inspiration for arts, it is the source a life too, but it also has the power to destroy. Water is a universal symbol of change and is often present at turning points in a story.
The river is a sign of ease, grace and fluidity; as expressed by its meandering form. Often times it is used to represent the calm beauty of nature. Certain types of rivers are often described as auspicious and healthy. A fast-flowing river can often be used to symbolize strength; sometimes calamity. Calamity can be represented through a disaster, such as the river flooding a nearby town or village. A slow-flowing river can often be used to symbolize weakness, or sometimes being steady and calm. The Ocean is a sign of power and strength, dominating all other symbols of water--due to its immensity. All life was ocean-born and life still exists in the ocean; therefore the ocean represents life. Also, the ocean represents mystery.
As a consequence, water is a source of inspiration for writers, painters, musicians, philosophers, visual arts artist, etc
Summary wl5, COLEGIUL ECONOMIC BUZAU, Romania, teacher ILIE CATALINA
We received responses from our colleagues at our question, these are very interesting and useful for us. We asked what method do they think is more efficient in order to save water.
From wl 1 we got some methods efficient for saving the water. He said it would be efficient in order to save water to take a shower for five minutes, use rainwater for our garden, clean our windows with rainwater.
But, wl 6 told us a few ways we can personally reduce excessive water consumption:
- When we brush our teeth we should not let the water flow
- You do not have to exaggerate with the irrigation
-Run your clothes washer and dishwasher only when they are full.
-For cold drinks keep a pitcher of water in the refrigerator instead of running the tap. This way, every drop goes down you and not the drain.
From wl 7 we know some ideas that make water-saving way of life to secure a better future for the generations of tomorrow: Drinkable water is water safe to be consumed by humans. Even in the first world countries, after the major disasters, access to potable water may be limited. People in this situation can look for potable water in hot water heaters, and they should save this water for drinking, for bathing and cleaning. They also should keep purification tablets on hand in an emergency preparedness kit. After major storms and hurricanes, the people should wait to be assured that their water is potable, in case sewage pipes have ruptured and contaminated the water supply.
So, this learning cycle on the theme "Water is Life" brings a huge benefit development and water saving for the planet.
Summary wl6, COLEGIUL ECONOMIC BUZAU, Romania teacher POSTOVEI CATALINA ILEANA, ILIE CATALINA
Water and life are two elements bound one to eachother more than we could imagine. The formula ''water is the swing of the life'' has already become a stereotipe. If we think a little we realise that it's true, the first living creatures appeared in the seas that once covered the dry land of the Blue Planet (Earth). What does water means for you?
This was our question and we got very interesting answers from you.
For many of us water is a liquid odorless, tasteless and colorless. If we think more, we could realize that we can not exist without water, we are water. Besides the fact that water is an essential ingredient of life, it has several roles.
Water is considered purifying in many of the religions, such as the mystery of Baptism is performed in water. In addition, a ritual bath in pure water is deceased. By the laws of religion, prayer is only symbolic of the body after cleaning with clean water. About water are thought to have purifying powers.
For us, water is the genesis of everything in our living world.
Water plays a crucial role in the geological history of the Earth, in shaping the climate and weather, in the circulation of substances, in the physiological and biological aspects of life. The importance of water for all living things is great.
- Water - source of life.

- Rivers, lakes, seas, oceans, swamps, and ponds adorn our Earth.

The value of water for plants
The water is necessary for plants to their full growth. All plants drink water and get its nutrients.
The water is in the leaves, stems, fruits. Plants cool themselves, evaporating water through the leaves.
The plants are rooted in order to get water out of the ground
The water with nutrients and minerals come to all parts of the plant. The plants die without water
First , for me , water symbolizes the relationship with my mother , because she joined me from the first moment of intrauterine life. Secondly , water is a symbol of initiation into life , by christening . It marks the great passages :birth , marriage , death.
The symbolic meanings of water can be reduced to two dominant themes :the origin of life and a means of purification . For me, it represents inifinite possibilities , the symbol of wisdon and grace.

Summary wl 8: National College “B.P.Hasdeu”, Romania
This edition of the GTP was extremely interesting and we have found out many new things. Through the answers to all the questions we have found out about the various difficulties that other countries have with water(flooding, drought, etc), about ingenious ways of saving water or of preventing us from polluting it. We've also discovered how people from other countries value water and how they may regard it according to their customs and culture.
We've enjoyed our time discussing the answers to all of the questions and, yet again, it has been very informative.
We thank you for your questions and answers.
:)
